How to Create WOW Experiences in Business and Life
Using an AI prompt for business can be a powerful way to create WOW experiences that surprise and delight your clients.
Many years ago I learned the WOW principle from Raymond Aaron, author of "Double Your Income Doing What You Love".
Here's how you define a WOW experience:
- I receive something unexpected
- It is very relevant to me
Here are a couple of examples that might help:
If you give your child a $1000 bicycle for Christmas that wasn’t expected but they don't really want it, it's not a WOW experience as it's not relevant to them.
If you give a client a coupon to save money on your server at Black Friday, that's not a WOW experience even though it's relevant to them. The problem is, it's kinda expected that you'll give discounts on Black Friday.
Recently we received a new client in our HireMyVA White Glove Service. This person was looking for a project manager to take some load off of her and to provide better experiences to her clients.
I was a little concerned over her overlap hours for the position, so I asked her to schedule a meeting with me.
She did, and we went over my concerns.
But then I asked her, do you have any methodology of how you run your projects or how you meet with your team, and if not, would you like to see how I run my projects?
She said she didn't have a good way of doing this and YES to seeing how I run projects!
So I showed her and she was so grateful and appreciative, especially when I said I'd edit it some and get her copies of what I do!
Now that was a WOW experience for her.
- she received something unexpected - when signing up for the service, she NEVER thought she'd get a project management methodology and templates that she could use immediately for her business.
- it was relevant to her - it was what she needed to help solve a current pain point and will help her business big-time going forward.
So in 2025, I encourage you create WOW experiences for all of your relationships, both business and personal.
While you can create WOW experiences spur-of-the-moment, you should also plan for some of them.
Try asking your favorite AI tool this question and fill change out the appropriate words for your own:
Act like a Professional Executive Coach. I need a list of WOW ideas that I can work towards implementing. You will generate 20 ideas for me to consider, given that I am the YOUR_POSITION of YOUR_COMPANY_NAME where we do SERVICE1, SERVICE2, SERVICE3, PRODUCT1, PRODUCT2, PRODUCT3. In the process, you should consider that a WOW experience is defined by (a) my client receives something unexpected and (b) it is very relevant to them. Please don't generate anything until you understand and use the examples and further explanation I'll provide you in the next prompt. And write at a Middle School level.
Remember to give it the above examples at the next prompt.
You can always customize the question to a specific client of yours, or modify it to apply to your spouse, putting in as examples a few things they really like.
